Nancy LaVonne Larson, 86, of Hardy passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.
Nancy, the daughter of Gernhardt and Irene (McBride) Will was born February 5, 1934 in Fort Dodge. She attended grade school at a country school near LuVerne and attended high school in LuVerne, graduating with the class of 1951. Nancy attended American Institute of Business and worked in Des Moines following graduation, where she met great friends and talked of her time there fondly.
On January 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to Marion Larson at the LuVerne United Methodist Church. They made their home on their farm near Hardy and were married for 59 years. They had three children; Lynn, Kay and Paul.
Nancy was a member of the Hardy Methodist Church and later Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt where she and Marion moved after retirement. She was active in Circle there and continued as a member of the T4U Club. Nancy was an avid walker, reader, and loved having coffee and laughs with her friends at the Hardy Cafe or wherever they could get together. She proudly wore her Iowa Hawkeyes jacket and watched sports faithfully. She always loved being with family and friends and enjoyed life.
Nancy is survived by her three children; Lynn McGee of Dallas, TX, Kay (Tracy) Glawe of Allen, TX, and Paul Larson of LuVerne; grandchildren, Collin McGee, Sam and Sarah Glawe, Tyler (Kinzie) Larson and Kaitlyn (Colton) Sargent, step-granddaughter Holly Birkey; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Larson, her parents, and her sister, Wanda Skogerboe.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19th at Faith United Methodist Church. Masks must be worn. Burial will be at Indian Mound Cemetery. The family
