Norma Jean McCoon, 92, of Bode, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 11, 2024 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.
Norma Jean was born May 12, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Trevor and Ruby (Hall) Seymour. She was united in marriage to Robert L. McCoon and the couple made their home at various locations throughout the United States including; California, New York, Minnesota, Iowa and Colorado. Norma Jean worked as a medical technician in her working years. She and Robert returned to Iowa in 2004 and made their home in Bode. She was a collector of music boxes among many other things and enjoyed her yard work. Norma Jean was a card sender and never missed a birthday or anniversary of family. Above all, she was an amazing grandmother. Her grandchildren loved to go to grandma’s house where everything was hands on and no trinket was off limits.
Norma Jean is survived by her children; Mary (Jesse) Faulk, Linda Andersen, Janet Butler, Vicky Hall, Julie Chamless, her grandchildren; Angela, Bailey, Everett, Mandy, Teddy, Shanta, Sarah and Richard, her great-grandchildren; Amber, Blake, Jacob, Tristan, Paxton, Izzy, Lucas, Vinchenzo, Libby, Gabe, Benjamin, Isaiah, Desiree, Xavier, Trey, Mikai, Raina, Brooks and Ashlyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sister Doris, granddaughters Destiny and Cherish and great-granddaughter, Angel.
