Hans Engman, 62, passed away April 8, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 4-6 Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Hans is survived by his sister and brothers, Dawn Keefe of Humboldt, Michael “Mick” Engman of Humboldt, John Engman of Council Bluffs, and Greg Engman of California; nieces and nephews, David (Stephanie) Engman, Daniel (Heather Hanson, Gabriel Hanson, Nathan Hanson, Elizabeth (Greg) Harris-Johnson, Joseph (Grace) Anderson, Larry Jones, and Krystal Jones; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia McGeachy, Eleanora Jones, Cynthia Hanson; brother, Carl “Bud” Engman; and nephew, Jacob Hanson.
Olaf Hans Engman, the son of Carl and Mable (Blair) Engman, was born June 28, 1955 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. The family lived in Dayton until 1966 when they moved to Humboldt. Hans completed his education and graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1973. Hans began his career with Holiday Gas Stations working his way up to manager, then manager trainer for area stores when it became Kum&Go. He then went to work for Harvestore before joining Sande Construction. He enjoyed working for Ron Sande until health concerns led to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and reading and loved riding his motorcycle. He liked children and enjoyed interacting with his nieces and nephews and found great reward in helping other people. He will be remembered as a grateful person and a wonderful brother.
