Paul M. George, 82, of Gilmore City, passed away September 25, 2011 at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 28, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt with Fr. James Tigges officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery West of Gilmore City with full military rites by the Adams American Legion Post 119 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5240. Visitation is from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday with a parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the Mason Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Paul George, the son of Raymond and Pearl George, was born Feb. 7, 1929 in Pioneer, IA. He graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1947. George was united in marriage to Marlys Jackson in 1950 and in 1951 he entered the service and was stationed in Korea and Japan. After returning from the service George and Marlys farmed in the Clare and Gilmore City area. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.
George is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlys; sons, Denny (Ann) George, Ron (Helen) George; daughter, Jane Klingson, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: brother Tom George and sister Mary Frances Lane.
