Paul “Motor” Giddings, 53, of Rutland, passed away February 27, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday. March 2, 2012 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Paul is survived by his wife, Catherine Giddings of Rutland; son, Chad (Kristan) Giddings of Fort Dodge; daughter, Sarah Giddings of Rutland; his parents, Russell and Mary Lou Giddings of Rutland; grandchild, Ashton Giddings; twin brother, Mark (Jodi) Giddings of Humboldt; sister, Robin (Greg) Beckley of Barnum; nieces and nephews, Seth (Cydney) Giddings and Braylyn, Amber Beckley and Brian Beckley; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. His infant sister, Christine and niece, Shadlee Giddings, preceded him in death.
Paul Russell Giddings, the son of Russell and Mary Lou (Andrews) Giddings, was born June 27, 1958 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He along with his sister and twin brother was raised on a farm northeast of Rutland. He attended elementary school at Rutland and graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1976. Following his education, Motor was employed by Russ Meyer Construction. Motor loved to work and he loved to farm and went to work for Kenny McKenna and the Moench family helping farm.
In December of 1977 he married Kelly Terwilliger and the marriage was later dissolved. On January 21, 1993, he married Catherine Schall and the couple made their home on the family farm.
