Paul Skow, 67, of Humboldt, passed away April 7, 2018 at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Private family services will be held on Thursday followed by burial with full military rites in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Paul Skow, the son of Elliott and Verna ((Benz) Skow, was born September 28, 1950 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised at Rutland where he attended school through the 8th grade and graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1968. Following his education, Paul began farming which he did his whole life. He married Peg Kampen and to this union, five children were born. The marriage was later dissolved. He purchased his first truck in the early ‘90’s and drove for DeKalb Seed Corn and Hog Slats for many years.
Paul enjoyed tending his vegetable garden and in later years, enjoyed his television shows. He was a member of FFA, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Pro COOP, and W&H Coop.
Paul is survived by his children, Brad (Deb) Skow of Thor, Tracy (Jeff Engelen) Barr of Grant, MN, Jody Skow of Mesa, AZ, John (Mindy) Skow of Humboldt, and Heidi (Chuck) Crane of Webster City; grandchildren, Derrick Barr, Elizabeth Skow, Mitchell Skow, Dillon Skow, Ethan Barr, Kelly Skow, Cami Skow, Hudson Skow, Hayden Crane, Rowan Crane, Sarah Van Ord, Tyler Boom, Collin Engelen, Alex Engelen, and Liviya Engelen; great-grandchildren, TayLynn, Emma, Ava, and Ally; brother, Mike Skow of Rutland; and sisters, Linda (Joe) Miller of Ankeny and Marlene (Pete) Coughlin of Champlin, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Verna Skow.
