Randell F. Fridolfson, 69, of Knoxville, formerly of Rutland, died as a result of service connected illnesses on August 24, 2009 at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with the Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Randell is survived by his daughter, Karman Schantz of Annweiler, Germany; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Bridgett) Fridolfson of Rutland; sister, Ruthie Cox of Rutland; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by is parents, and brother, Tom Fridolfson.
Randell Franklyn Fridolfson, the son of Ralph William and E. Ruth (Dowling) Fridolfson, was born August 29, 1939 at Georgetown, Minnesota. At an early age, Randell moved with his family to Webster County then to Humboldt County. Following his graduation from Humboldt High School in 1958, he went into the trucking business. On January 19, 1961, Randell enlisted into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and served two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in March of 1969. Randell owned and operated a truck and dirt moving business for several years then went to work for Pro-Coop until his retirement.
In 1963, Randell was married to Ilona Schaffer in Rodalben, West Germany and to this union a daughter, Karman was born. The couple was later divorced.
Randell enjoyed horses, hunting, and farming.
