Rita R. Pierce, 47, of Bode passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 31, 2021 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.

She was born September 20, 1973 in Humboldt, the daughter of Gary D. and Donna M. (Hedden) Hendricks. She was raised and educated in Bode and following her schooling she raised her family in various communities in northwest Iowa. In 2017 she returned to Bode. Rita was passionate about her family, was full of life, had a wicked sense of humor, enjoyed Vikings Football, butterfly’s and her favorite color was blue.

She is survived by her children John Finley of Bode and Samantha (T.J.) Lenning of Rolfe, her grandchildren Timothy, Jonathon, Carsen, Joshua and Nataly, her father Gary (Julie) Hendricks of Humboldt, her mother Donna (Don) Hugh of Hawarden, her fiancé Ron Hjelmeland, step children Brook, Hope & Tate Hjelmeland all of Bode, her brothers and sister Darin (Amy) Hendricks of Rutland, Sue Hendricks of Hawarden, James (Cathyleen) Hendricks of Livermore, John Hendricks of Humboldt and Paul (Tracie) Hendricks of Gilmore City, her step-sister and step-brothers Lindsey and Tyler Winter both of Humboldt and George Hugh of Hawarden, her step-grandmother Jeanne Hugh of Rutland, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Rita’s Life will be held starting at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19th at Lower Sheldon Park, west of Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
