Robert C. Molitor passed away Dec. 4, 2019 at the age of 94 at Humboldt County Memorial hospital.
Bob was born July 29, 1925 in Manson, Iowa, the son of Ben and Bonnie (Tuel) Molitor. He graduated from Manson high school in 1943. He joined the Navy in 1945, served in World War II on the USS Randolph aircraft carrier, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Lois Ann Fort in 1950, they were married for 61 years before Lois passed away in 2011. They lived and farmed in Humboldt county until Bob retired. Bob was a member of St Mary’s Catholic church and his faith was very important to him. He served on the Humboldt County Fair board for many years. Bob and Lois were inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame.
Bob is survived by his children, Jenean (Mel) Smith of Dakota City, Blythe Barber of Dubuque, Lisa (Randy) Ahrens of Rhoads, grandchildren Derek (Laura) Tellier, Marissa (Justin) Bauer, Brieanna (Clint) Hilken, and Chelsy (Andy) Goedken, and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, his parents, sister Mary Braby and granddaughter Wendy Tellier.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 9:00 am at the VFW in Dakota City, military rites and burial at 11:00 am at the St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
The family asks that this be a casual gathering of friends and family and requests no flowers. Memorials can be left to St. Mary’s parish and school or Humboldt County 4-H.
