Robert A. Waterhouse, 79, of Humboldt, passed away July 20, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 24, at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Robert is survived by his wife, Milli of Humboldt; sons, Timothy Waterhouse of Humboldt, Mark (Laurel) Waterhouse of Flowery Branch, GA, and Joel (Bridgette) Waterhouse of Stone Mountain, GA; daughters, Sarai (George) Mikesh of Stone Mountain, GA, and Marisa (Tim) Christains of Clarion; brother, Donald (Jan) Waterhouse of Tokyo Japan; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Waterhouse, Jr.; and sister, Virginia May Waterhouse.
Robert Alan Waterhouse, the son of George Edward and Nellie Maude (Miller) Waterhouse, was born October 17, 1937 at Newark, New Jersey. He received his education in New Jersey and graduated from Bloomfield New Jersey High School. Following his education, Bob enlisted into the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Bob moved to Miami, Florida where he met Milli. The couple was united in marriage on November 19, 1966. The family moved to Iowa where Bob accepted a position with Kem Manufacturing as a salesman before joining JCL Solutions in Spencer. They made their homes in the communities of Spirit Lake, Storm Lake, Newell, and Battle Creek before settling in Humboldt in 1980. Bob continued his work as a salesman with JCL Solutions until his death.
Bob loved his sales work and enjoyed talking to and building relationships with his customers. His favorite pastimes were perfecting his golf game, reading, and enjoying the flowers and birds in his yard. Above all, Bob loved the time he spent with Mille and enjoyed the many rides they took together. His wife and children will always remember him as a loving family man.
