Ruth V. Vinsand, 86, of Humboldt passed away October 18, 2009 at her home. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with the Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Mrs. Vinsand is survived by her children, Joan Roach of Mackinaw, IL, Linda Serna of Albuquerque, NM, Jim Vinsand of Sebring, FL, and Rick Vinsand of Humboldt; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert; sister, Cornelia Jenson; brothers, Harry, Leslie, and Kenneth Anderson; and a grandson, Brian Vinsand.
Ruth Vivian Anderson, the daughter of Halvor and Myrtle Anderson, was born January 13, 1923 at Humboldt. She was raised and educated in Humboldt. She was united in marriage to Albert Vinsand at Lebanon, Missouri on 1941 and the couple made their home on several farms in the area until 1947 when they moved to Humboldt. Ruth was employed in several businesses in Humboldt until 1974 when she became a nursing assistant at the North and South Care Centers in Humboldt. Mr. Vinsand passed away in 2001 and Ruth continued to maintain her home until moving to her apartment. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church.
