Sara Lou Hanna, 82, of Humboldt, passed away May 28, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center North.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.  Interment will be in the mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge.  Visitation is from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.  The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hanna is survived by her husband, Robert of Humboldt; daughters, Deb Reilly of Gilbert, and Marcia (Dave) Thompson of Badger; grandchildren, Misty (Josh) Burke of Ankeny, Robbie Thompson of Ames, Morgan Reilly of Ft. Myers, FL, and Mason Reilly of Ames; brother, Bobby Dorriety  of Louisville, KY; and sisters, Betty Jo Peters of Jackson, TN, and Geraldine Beckham of Enterprise, AL.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Dorriety; and her sister, Ruth Cole.
Sara Lou Dorriety, the daughter of Acie and Bertha Dorriety, was born February 22, 1930 at Hartford, Alabama.  She was raised and educated at Hartford and graduated from Hartford Alabama High School.  Following her education, Sara worked as a bookkeeper for International Harvester.  It was in Alabama that Sara met Robert Hanna who was serving as an MP at Fort Ruckers.  The couple was united in marriage on December 4, 1951.  In 1952 they moved to Humboldt where they farmed south of town.
Sara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She enjoyed vegetable gardening and loved her flowers.  She also enjoyed canning her produce, fishing and camping with her family, and antiques.
