Scott Lerdal, 70, of Humboldt passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Scott was born July 16, 1950 in Fort Dodge the son of Lawrence and Muriel (Haaland) Lerdal. He grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Jaclyn J. Sayers on August 28, 1971. Scott received his bachelor’s degree in animal science from Iowa State University in 1972. Scott had worked at Mormon Feed, Humboldt County Lumber, KC Nielsen, Hotsy Corporation and Worthington Insurance (later became Town and Country Insurance). He loved working with his clients. Returning to Humboldt in 1975, Scott loved running the family farm until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Scott had been a 4-H leader, active in Church activities, a member of Jaycees, and Lions Club. Scott was a big Cyclones fan who especially enjoyed attending football games.
He is survived by his wife Jacki of Humboldt, daughters Andi (David) Fisher of Cumming, Jill (Jon) Neas of Urbandale; his grandchildren Luke and Keith Fisher, Joshua, Jackson, Jaime and Jeffery Neas; his sisters Carol (David) Lee of Bloomington, Minnesota, Susan Lerdal of Urbandale and his brother David (Pam) Lerdal of Donalsonville, Georgia.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 10 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the memorial service following at 1:30 p.m. Masks will be required at the church. The service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page: Faith United Methodist Church - Humboldt County, Iowa | Facebook. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church, Humboldt 4-H Foundation, American Cancer Society or the music or athletic program of your grandchildren’s school.
