Selma L. Ehrhardt, 87, of Humboldt, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Humboldt Care Center South.
She was born October 28, 1934 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Philip and Florence (Swanson) Nelson. She was raised in the Fort Dodge area and graduated from Humboldt High School. On February 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to Arthur O. Ehrhardt. The couple made their home in Humboldt where they raised their family. Selma worked for a number of years at Hadar Manufacturing and later for Congregate Meals. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in the choir and Women of the Spirit, she enjoyed collecting tea pots and dolls, enjoyed her flowers, had been a board member at Elderbridge, enjoyed summers camping and boating at Lake Iowa, traveling with the Friendship Haven Travel Club, she served as President of the Senior Club, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
Selma is survived by her children Steven (Virginia) Ehrhardt of Dakota City, Phil Ehrhardt of Humboldt and Jeff (Lori) Ehrhardt of Osceola, her grandchildren Christopher, Kevin, Jonathan (Valarea), Jason (Emily), Kelli and Taylor, her great- grandson Julian and great-granddaughter Vivian, her brother Erland (Phyllis) Nelson of Humboldt, her sister Phyllis (Carroll) Vik of Humboldt and sister-in-law Barb Nelson of Dakota City She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur, sons Arthur Jr. and Ron, her brothers Frank, Clifford and Virgil Nelson, her sister Dorothy Nelson and her great-granddaughter Emily Ehrhardt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.
