Sharon K. Reedy

Sharon Kay Reedy, 83 of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 25, 2018 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

Sharon was born September 14, 1935 in Algona, the daughter of Wilma Pate Brown and Lawrence Brown. The family moved to Humboldt in the winter of 1935. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1953 and worked in the telephone office for three years. She was united in marriage to Dale E. Reedy on April 10, 1955 and became a farmer’s wife for the next 62 years. In 1973, she began working as a clerk in the Blakestad Drug Store and remained there for 24 years. Dale and Sharon spent 15 years in retirement wintering in Port Aransas. She was a member of the East Grove Friendly Neighbors Club, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Faith United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Sharon is survived by her children, Steve (Joan) Reedy of Hardy, LeAnn (Don) Zogg of North Oaks, Minnesota and Robert (Regina) Reedy of Eagle Grove, her grandchildren, Eric (Laura) Reedy, Emily Reedy, Cheryl Zogg, Jason (Cortney) Christensen and Amanda Christensen, her great-grandson, Lex Christensen and two half sisters and half brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale, nephew, Paul Reedy, brother-in-law, Ted Bastian and two half brothers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt. Visitation will continue at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th at the Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery followed by services at 12:00 noon at the church.
