Sharon Diane Habben, daughter of Gerhard & Freda (Dornath) Habben, was born on July 9, 1941 in Lizard Township. Growing up, she attended Corinth #10 country school until 6th grade and was a graduate of Humboldt High School in 1959. She caught the young eye of her husband of 55 years, Franklin, while attending a dance at the Larimar Ballroom. The couple was united in marriage on July 27, 1962 at First Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Frank and Sharon lived on the family farm near Palmer and moved to Humboldt in 2002. Throughout the years, they created many memories with their children, Kirk and Krystal. Sharon was a secretary at the Humboldt high school for many years.
Sharon channeled her energy and enthusiasm into all that she did. She was a kind, gentle soul & a faithful servant to God. She was an active member at St. John's & Faith Community Church in Palmer, Iowa. She was nurturing and encouraging, with her attitude always bright. In times of joy or frustrations in life's triumphs, she would always remind others " to always laugh at yourself." Sharon could sing beautifully and had a strong clean whistle. Following retirement in 2003, she spent the next 14 years spending quality time with her family and attending all of their events and activities. Throughout that time, Sharon fought an ongoing battle with cancer. Her will to live is full of abundance and she will be dearly missed with many happy memories.
