Stanley W. “Butch” Benjamin, 85, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born August 14, 1934 in Ottosen, Iowa, the son of Fred and Beulah Benjamin. He grew up on a farm in rural Bradgate. He was a 1953 graduate of Bradgate Iowa High School. He married the love of his life Merna Doeringsfeld on December 5, 1954. To this union three sons were born; David, Steve, and Mark.
Butch retired after a 46 year career at Pro Coop. Butch enjoyed hunting, trapping, and arrowhead hunting. He and Merna enjoyed camping and vacationing together. He also enjoyed his trips to Emmetsburg.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Benjamin of Las Vegas, NV, Mark (Jami) Benjamin of Peosta, IA, daughter-in-law, Brenda Benjamin of Gilmore City, IA, grandsons, Brad (Keri) Benjamin of Gilmore City, IA, Tyler (Danielle) Benjamin of Williamsburg, IA, granddaughters, Jessica (Alex) Veren of State Center, IA and Lexi Benjamin of Torrance, CA; great-grandchildren, Reese, Jase, Audrey, Avery, and Reagan, brothers Roger, Richard (Connie), and Gerald (DeLores), and sisters Arlene and Audrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beulah Benjamin, his wife, Merna, and son, David.
