Susan K. Beach, 69 of Humboldt, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born January 13, 1951 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Robert and Ardell (Wilcox) Carr. She grew up in Sioux Falls and later Madison, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Theodore C. Beach on August 20, 1971. Susan was an educator and her first teaching job was in Laurel, Nebraska and later Cranford and ColeRidge. In 1979 the couple moved to Bode and she taught at Twin Rivers for 13 years, later she was an instructor at Iowa Central Community College. Following her teaching career she worked at Satern for a number of years. She then later returned to Twin Rivers to be the curriculum director and tech coordinator. Later the AEA where she was a consultant. She was an amazing and supportive mother, enjoyed time with her grandchildren, enjoyed china painting, was kind and an excellent listener.
She is survived by her husband Ted, son Tony (Kathi) Beach all of Humboldt, her daughter Andrea (Jim) Zinnel of Whittemore, her grandchildren Cameron, Trever, Jennika, Jordan (Dani), Hunter and Jasper, her great-granddaughter Teddi, two sisters Lori Sayler and Lona Schlisner and her brother Kelly (Marcia) Casper.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27th at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. The church requests that you please wear a mask. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. www.masonlindhart.com
