Teresa A. Prenger

Teresa Ann Prenger, 56 of Dakota City, passed away due to a UTV accident on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Teresa was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota on November 14, 1967, the daughter of Merle and Janell (Wilson) Ayres.  She grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1986.  In 1988 she graduated from Minnesota West Community Technical College in Jackson, Minnesota with a degree in Telecommunication Administration, with honors.  She worked twenty years for Goldfield Access Network until 2019.  Teresa’s most recent position was with Parallel Ag (Brokaw) in Fort Dodge where her husband Ted was also employed.  In her spare time she enjoyed her cats and dogs and was an established breeder of Maine Coon cats.  

On February 7, 2008 she was united in marriage to Ted Prenger.  Ted and Teresa loved camping and traveling to Mexico, Jamaica, Sturgis, Smoky Mountains  and many other places.  She was an avid fan of any sport that her children and grandchildren participated in including volleyball, basketball, track, softball, baseball, wrestling, soccer, trap shooting and dance.  She enjoyed motorcycling, darts, fishing, hunting and gardening.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Teresa will be dearly missed by her mother & father: Merle & Janell Ayres. Siblings: Marley (Sara) Ayres and Karla Mae (Austin) Elling. Children: Jamie (Juan), Josie (Brandon), Kassie (Tony), Kylie, Gage & Aden. Grandchildren: Elisa, Luis, Nolan, Madeline, Paxon, Odin, Loxley, Piper, Otto, Lola, Leo, Addison and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and joined in death by her husband Ted.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15^th at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.  Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14^th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
