Terry D. Decker, 82, of Humboldt passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the North Care Center in Humboldt.
Terry was born on May 8, 1938 in Los Angeles, California the son of Robert and Ione (Wilson) Decker. At an early age he moved with his family to Humboldt and he graduated from Humboldt High School in 1957. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted into the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Upon returning he was united in marriage to Shirley Hampson on November 11, 1962 and the two started their family. He began working as a sanitation superintendent in 1967 and retired in 2001. Terry loved camping and carpentry, he was a member of the American Legion in Humboldt, was a part of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and active in Cub Scouts. He was described as very civic minded.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Clark Decker of Humboldt and Corey (Joyce) Decker of Rutland, daughter Christy Decker of Humboldt, brothers Gaylen (Pam) Decker of Orchard Lake, Michigan and Garlan Decker of Crescent Hills, Illiniois, sister Tracy (Scott) Goodell of Humboldt, grandchildren David, Dalton, Dustin, Dana, Ian, Brittany and James and great-grandchildren Zoey, Joseph, Alexxa, Jaxson, Raelynn and Jace. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Sharon Decker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of services. Burial with military rites by the Sathers-Odgaard American Legion & VFW will be held in Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt.
