Theodore J. "Ted" Prenger

Theodore J. “Ted/Teddy” Prenger, 43, of Dakota City, passed away due to a UTV accident on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Ted was born in Humboldt, Iowa on April 21, 1981 the son of Steven J. Prenger and Gail M. Broich.  He grew up in Humboldt, played football in school and graduated from Humboldt High School in 2000.  Throughout his life he farmed with Rod, Gary and Russ Naeve and drove truck.  Ted’s most recent position was in sales at Parallel Ag (Brokaw) in Fort Dodge where his wife Teresa was also employed.

On February 7, 2008 he was united in marriage to Teresa Ayres.  The couple made their home in Dakota City and Ted enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with Teresa at their children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events, traveling, darts, fishing and hunting.  Ted loved being with his sisters, family and his Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. He had a strong work ethic, was generous and a fun person to be around.

He will be dearly missed by his father, Steve Prenger. Family Jeff, Steph, Micheal
(Paige) Tyler (Gabby) Alison Bowden and great niece Everleigh Bowden. Rod, Heather, Makenna Naeve. Kylie, Hunter, Blake (Riley) and Emma Abrahamson. Children: Jamie (Juan), Josie (Brandon), Kassie (Tony), Kylie, Gage & Aden. Grandchildren; Elisa, Luis, Nolan, Madeline, Paxon, Odin, Loxley, Piper, Otto, Lola, Leo, Addison and Brayden.  

He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa, nephew Mason Theodore Naeve, his mother Gail Broich.

 Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15^th at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.  Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14^th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
