Vernon J. Schulze, 82, of Humboldt, passed away December 12, 2017 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Beaver Township.
Mr. Schulze is survived by his wife, Jackie Schulze of Humboldt; son, Robert (Aida) Schulze of Simi Valley, CA; and grandchildren, Alexander, Helen, and Leonidas Schulze. His parents and two sisters, Lorraine Seils and JoAnn Schulze, preceded him in death.
Vernon John Schulze, the son of Erwin and Helen (Weiss) Schulze, was born April 28, 1935 in Humboldt County. He was raised on the farm and attended school in the country and in Humboldt. In February of 1952, Vernon enlisted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked for a time at Humboldt Implement and Carlson John Deere before establishing his own farming operations. On August 11, 1957, he was united in marriage to Jacquelin Redinius at Zion Lutheran Church in Beaver Township. The couple farmed together for many years in Corinth Township.
Vernon was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed antique tractors and took pride in caring for his equipment.
