Vickie Lynn Heidt, 64, of Humboldt, passed away December 25, 2014 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Vickie is survived by her mother, Vivian Heidt of Humboldt; her sister, Virginia (Steven) Ehrhardt of Dakota City; brothers, Paul Heidt of Humboldt and David Heidt of Humboldt; nephews, Christopher, Kevin, and Jonathan Ehrhardt, and Kyle Heidt. He was preceded in death by her father, Merle in 2009 and an infant niece, Emily Ehrhardt.
Vickie Heidt, the daughter of Merle and Vivian (Koob) Heidt, was born December 21, 1950 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. Her parents brought her home to Humboldt where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Humboldt High School and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. For 9 years, Vickie worked as a Nurses Aid at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. She then joined the Environmental Services Department of the Hospital until her retirement at the age of 60.
Vickie made her home in Humboldt where she helped care for her mother and brother. Her favorite pastime was reading and owned an extensive collection of books. She enjoyed walking, quilting, and caring for her cats. Vickie took an interest in genealogy and family history and collected newspaper clippings of her family’s events.
