Wilma Ann Hart, 97, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in the Extended Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 19, 1924 near Manson, the daughter of John and Minnie (Koeppen) Stein. She was raised and educated in the Gilmore City Schools, graduating early from Gilmore City Community High School. Wilma’s mother passed away tragically as she was finishing her education and she then helped raise the family. She was united in marriage to Vincent T. Hart on January 21, 1947 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Gilmore City. The couple farmed in Beaver Township and later Weaver Township, in Humboldt County east of Gilmore City, where they raised their children. The couple moved to Humboldt in 1985 and following Vincent’s death, she continued to manage the family farms. Wilma had been active as a 4H Leader and served on various committees at St. John’s Catholic Church, Gilmore City. She loved sewing, enjoyed cooking and pursuing her business endeavors, attended Daily Mass regularly and was a woman of very strong faith.
Wilma is survived by her children Fr. Thomas J. Hart of Humboldt, Carol (Mike) Culhane of Marshall, Minnesota and Dennis (Kathy) Hart of Ankeny, her grandchildren Tim (Katie) Culhane of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Patrick Culhane of Marshall, Minnesota, Erin (Mark) Bendzick of Marshall, Minnesota, Jacquelyn Hart and Chris Hart both of Ankeny and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent, sister Shirley and her brothers Gene, John, Curt, Duane and an infant brother Gerald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 26th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service on Friday, February 25th, the recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. all at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
