Yvonne Crocker was born March 26, 1926 in Mason City Iowa to Ira and Josephine (Kelson) Crocker. When Yvonne was 5 years old her mother died, and she went to live with her aunt in Sibley. She was educated there and graduated from Sibley High School. After graduating Yvonne enrolled in electronics training school in Omaha. After graduating, she returned to Sibley to help her uncle in his doctor’s office. Later she moved to Mason City and took a job in the local telephone office. She met her future husband at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. Yvonne Married Richard Stockseth August 28, 1958. The couple made their home in Humboldt where Richard was teaching. She remained a resident of Humboldt the rest of her life.
Yvonne was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. She was an active member of the Humboldt County Republican Women. She also served as an official for many election in Humboldt County. Yvonne was renowned and admired for her skill as a seamstress.
Remaining to cherish Yvonne’s memory are brothers-in-law Arthur Stockseth and Merlin (Rose Lee) Stockseth both of Belmond;, sister-in-law, Lois Stockseth of Belmond. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Yvonne in death were her parents and husband Richard and sister-in-law, Ruth Olson.
