Whether you know Sandy Gruhn from your church and church activities, been served by Polly Nilles at Hy-Vee, worked with Mel Smith at the Humboldt Hospital, maybe you or one of your children were taught or coached by Larry Leibold or even issued a friendly traffic citation by former Deputy Kenny Vorland. A graduate of Humboldt High School, and ISTC College, Russ has dedicated himself to the Humboldt Community by teaching, and coaching baseball and basketball, and has been working for Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home for 14 years. He has also previously worked at Phillips 66 and Petroleum Marketers of Iowa for 42 years. Russ is married to Carol and has two children, Mark and Angie.
Kelley Helmers has spent most of her life in Algona. After graduating from Algona High School she went on to college obtaining an AA degree with an emphasis in business and marketing. Prior to pre-planning she spent over twenty years in advertising and printing. She and her husband Josh have two girls, Brooklyn and Brielle. They also have a beloved Persian cat, Jazzy and an English Crème Golden Retriever, Leva. Kelley is passionate about helping people feel comfortable about pre-arrangement, ensuring wishes are honored and providing emotional relief so that loved ones can gather and share memories of life. She is very open to different religions, beliefs and cultures and enjoys traveling and learning new things.
Mason-Lindhart is blessed with two Senior Advisors who have been with the funeral home for decades. Both LeRoy Jorgensen and Russ Christensen have served the Humboldt area for years both in the business community and civically. While you may not see them as frequently in assisting with funeral services, their knowledge of area families and local history proves invaluable. We thank them for their years of dedication.
